Or perhaps you've recently gone through the change and have an essential checklist that you could share with your fellow Redditors? You need to follow few important steps:  1: Redirect all pages accordingly to new pages (HTTP to HTTPs).  2: Don't remove meta tags (Change if needed).  3: Make changes in rel=canonical tags  4: Keep Monitoring Search console (old name webmaster tools)  5: Change Both sitemap.XML and HTML.  6: keep checking 404 and Soft 404 errors in search console.  7: Make changes in URLs/links on every page. There are many free ways to get traffic to your website. Create a stunt that will attract social media influencers, bloggers, media and news to your website. The louder and more ridiculous the better, a great example is how Google hides easter eggs in their search engine, i.e. search on Google for "do a barrel roll". I also remember when they offered a pac man game on Google maps.  The best traffic is always free, master your SEO and analytics. Find the words that bring in the most relevant traffic to your website, and that of your competition. New Negative SEO method

Lately I've been experiencing something strange traffic on a German site of mine. It appears to be that there are bots (at least they seem to be) visiting my site from all over the world, all coming from Google.DE (German Google) and all visiting the very same page. I check the IP's/refer/et cetera with the WordFence plugin, I also block those visitors here, because... It's strange to have quite some visitors from all over the world coming from Google.DE (Germany) and landing on one page. So I started thinking, "Is this some good-mooded SEO 'GURU', or what?". Because I know for a fact how extremely important your traffic (and its bounce percentage) have become for Google, my mind quickly turned for the worst. See, these bots - they visit the page (from 'my' local Google.DE) whilst being in Australia for example.
